PLEASANT VIEW - Several hundred people attended funeral services for a teenage fireman tragically killed in an automobile accident on Monday, Oct. 28, 2002. Representatives from several fire departments and emergency services agencies gathered to pay their last respects to a well-liked honors graduate from Guyan Valley High School who loved being a volunteer firefighter.
Bryan Abshire, 18, of Branchland, a Lieutenant with the West Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department, was killed in an automobile accident around 3:50 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, according to State Police Trooper T.L. Berry of the Hamlin detachment.
IN MEMORY - A memorial was set up at Handley Funeral Home to honor Bryan Abshire.
